I usually do. I don’t know why I am letting what he says get to me.

preggosaur said: Maybe you need to speak up and let him know how much his remarks hurt you? He probably just thinks he’s joking around and doesn’t realise.

I said something once, and he said that he is 78 and can say what he wants at that age, and went on to say I’m too heavy. He has seen I have been working on losing weight. That it has been a struggle since childhood. I was happy with a two pound weight loss last week and he said it obviously wasn’t enough for my size. I REALLY shouldn’t let what he says get to me.

I can only bite my tongue for so long. I have been helping my step grandpa since he had some treatment done, and he has done nothing but made digs at my weight.

“You’re too big to fit in that chair.”

“You’ll wreck my scale!”

“You really don’t need to eat those fruits and vegetables.”

“My other granddaughters are thin. Healthy.”

But you know, tonight at dinner he took it too far. “You know, you won’t be able to have kids with your boyfriend. You are already too heavy as it is.” ONE: My weight is MY concern. TWO: Kids aren’t even in the near future, they are a want, but not for at least six years. THREE: I don’t care how old you are, being THAT DISRESPECTFUL is not OK. He uses his age as an excuse for all the remarks. There is no reason for him to throw digs at me all day when I am here cleaning and cooking. The thing that pisses me off is that he knows my struggle with weight, and yet feels it is okay to make such cruel remarks and think he can just get away with it. I’m not even hurt, I am pissed.

This is delicious!

This is delicious!

makingitamazing replied to your post: In order for my mother to go to a specialist for…this is...

makingitamazing replied to your post: In order for my mother to go to a specialist for…this is really good! it does depend on how far after the meals/snacks you take your blood sugar, but this is a good thing!

Seattle’s vision of an urban food oasis is going forward. A seven-acre plot of land in the city’s Beacon Hill neighborhood will be planted with hundreds of different kinds of edibles: walnut and chestnut trees; blueberry and raspberry bushes; fruit trees, including apples and pears; exotics like pineapple, yuzu citrus, guava, persimmons, honeyberries, and lingonberries; herbs; and more. All will be available for public plucking to anyone who wanders into the city’s first food forest.

“This is totally innovative, and has never been done before in a public park,” Margarett Harrison, lead landscape architect for the Beacon Food Forest project, tells TakePart. Harrison is working on construction and permit drawings now and expects to break ground this summer.

The concept of a food forest certainly pushes the envelope on urban agriculture and is grounded in the concept of permaculture, which means it will be perennial and self-sustaining, like a forest is in the wild. Not only is this forest Seattle’s first large-scale permaculture project, but it’s also believed to be the first of its kind in the nation.

She went to the first class today and afterwards had a packet of information along with plenty to discuss.

She checked my blood sugar after every meal. 133 for lunch, which contained my carbs for the day, then 88 after dinner, and 103 after a snack. From what I read, after meals it is ideal to be below 180. Does anyone else know different? I am curious if this is decent, especially since I had misplaced my Metformin and missed doses for today.

pcoswontwin said: You’re caloric needs increase when you’re on your period so its normal to...

pcoswontwin said: You’re caloric needs increase when you’re on your period so its normal to experience this amount of hunger. Whenever it comes time for my menstrual cycle to make its monthly appearance, my appetite increases OR lessens drastically. This time around, my appetite is increased and I am constantly hungry. Despite taking the Metformin, which usually decreases my appetite, I am never satisfied and always craving. I have been drinking water throughout the day, but I have found that is not even helping lessen. And what I happen to be craving is carbs, which I have given it to the past few days but now I am avoiding all together. I have been snacking on fruits and vegetables, cheese and beans when I am hungry, but my cravings and appetite are wicked this month. Are there any tips anyone else who deals with this also could share?

healthyliving-and-fitness:

I’ve talked to you on my main blog, killamorgan, lol last year my feet would swell all the time! I didn’t understand why. Maybe you’re retaining a lot of water? Try resting when you can w/ your feet propped up on some pillows :) it helps

It is a good possibility! I’ll rest with my feet up today, and maybe see about propping my feet up on pillows when I sleep at night. Since last week, every morning I wake up, the left ankle is swollen for a few hours. A few days prior to it swelling, I twisted it when walking down a step, but now it has been over a week. There isn’t any pain unless I’m walking on it for an extended period of time, otherwise it is just swollen and a bit uncomfortable. I’m currently looking for a new GP, and won’t go to the hospital for this because it isn’t an emergency.

Has anyone had this happen before? I take Portia birth control, Spironolactone, and Metformin.

i swear i ask more questions on this blog then i post but.

healthsurvival:

does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of darker skin i have pcos which causes darker skin like in-between you legs and under your arms and stuff, and i hate it and really want to get rid of it i know losing weight with help (working on it) but is there anything else i can do to get rid of it faster?

im so ashamed of it.

I have dealt with the darkened skin for a number of years now, but have found that since starting medication (Metformin & Spironolactone) four years ago, the darkened skin has lightened in areas. I noticed it around my neck, between my breasts, and on the inside of my thighs. Now it is barely visible around my neck and lightened on the inside of my thighs as well as between my breasts, but it did take some time. I have found losing weight as suggested by my doctor, along with the medication has helped, but I also make sure to moisturize after I shower with coco butter.

In this article (http://m.kidshealth.org/teen/your_body/skin_stuff/acanthosis.html), it gives brief information on acanthosis nigricans, but also states that there is some time of cream doctors can prescribe.
